David Blumberg’s career has spanned over the past 35 years as an International Clarinet Soloist, Orchestral Clarinetist, top Pedagogue. In 1996, David replaced Philadelphia Orchestra's Principal Clarinetist Anthony Gigliotti as Clarinet Faculty of the FAME Music Festival in Lawrenceville NJ. In 2014, Blumberg performed with members of the Hong Kong Philharmonic and Pizazz Orchestra to perform in Shenzhen, China. Recently, David served as Principal Clarinetist for the Concert for Peace at the Philadelphia Kimmel Center and at the Carnegie Hall Stern Auditorium.
An International teacher, David has given Masterclasses across Europe and the United States. In 2013-2016, David has taught at a variety of Conservatories in Cologne, Vienna, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and Utrecht, where he was also a featured soloist at the 1st Netherlands Clarinet Festival. Since 2015, Blumberg has served as Faculty for the International Clarinet Festival in Agaete, Spain (Canaria) where he has performed also as Soloist as well as Professor.
My Clarinet Students have received numerous accolades. In 2016, my Skype student, Jay S from San Diego, was a member of the Carnegie Hall Youth Orchestra of the United States and toured Europe under Russian Superstar Music Director Valery Gergiev. From 2012 to 2016, his students have either been finalists or winners at the Philadelphia International Music Festival Concerto Competition.
His student from High School Eddie S. won 2nd Prize in the 2012 International Clarinet Association's "Orchestra Audition Competition" at 19, besting 3 University Clarinet Faculty Members, and being the youngest Contestant by over 6 years. The other 4 Finalists in that Competition all had their Doctorates - he had just finished his Sophomore year in College!
My students have won top placement with the National Band, among other selective ensembles.

My goal is to customize lessons to the student/apprentices needs in regards to correcting fundamental issues both technically and musically. A strong fundamental basis is critical to being the best that a player can be, and being able to correctly analyze and correct is a rare specialty. We will work hard together, but it will be fun -
My goal is to customize lessons to the student/apprentices needs in regards to correcting fundamental issues both technically and musically. A strong fundamental basis is critical to being the best that a player can be, and being able to correctly analyze and correct is a rare specialty. We will work hard together, but it will be fun - my love of music, and my very high standards are contagious! We can work towards a specific goal such as an Audition, or generally making you the best player that you can possibly be.

Our Lessons online will be using the Zoom.US Meeting Format. You will get to keep a video of our live Lesson - that is amazingly helpful to review our lesson to get the best benefit from it.
You will improve quite rapidly doing the work I give you, as well as the Instruction of exactly how to approach practicing the works, and also how to play the Clarinet at a very high level.
